Who we are

Founded by survivors. Driven by compassion.

Ethiopia Cancer Association is a nonprofit organization founded by cancer survivors and individuals who witnessed the challenges caused by limited cancer awareness and treatment services in Ethiopia. We work to raise awareness, advocate for stronger cancer care, and support patients who need compassion, dignity, and practical assistance throughout their treatment journey.

Our Mission

To increase cancer awareness, strengthen advocacy, and provide psychosocial and practical support to people affected by cancer, particularly patients who face financial, emotional, and accommodation challenges while receiving treatment.

Our Vision

An Ethiopia with accessible and adequate cancer treatment services, where cancer is detected and treated effectively and is no longer a major threat to life.

What guides us

Our values

The principles behind every screening, every visit, every gift.

Compassion first

We meet every patient with dignity, warmth, and respect — care that feels like family.

Radical transparency

Every birr is accounted for. 92% of program funds go straight to patient services.

Community-led

Survivors, families and volunteers shape our work. Change grows from the ground up.
